Often it is important to know certain statistical measures of the motion spectrum. These can be used to determine significant motions, Root Mean Square (RMS) motions as well as other measures such as Motion Sickness Incidence (MSI).
It is also possible to calculate the probability of exceeding certain limiting criteria, such as limiting maximum vertical accelerations, propeller emergence, slamming and so forth.
Seakeeper is able to calculate the significant and RMS motions, velocities and accelerations of the heave, pitch and roll motions at the centre of gravity of the vessel. In addition, the user is able to specify remote locations away from the centre of gravity. Seakeeper calculates the vertical absolute and relative motions as well as the MSI at these locations.
