In the same way as cutouts can vary from frame to frame, stringer orientation may also be varied by setting the orientation of the upstand.
You can change the orientation of the cutout at any upstand by selecting the upstand and using the Orientation command from the Stringer menu. This will override the orientation specified for the stringer.
Note:
Changing the shape and orientation properties for a particular frame does not change the stringer’s properties. This means that, in theory, it is possible to go from horizontal stringer orientation to vertical and back again between three frames.
You can set the orientation back to the default for the stringer by typing a "-" (minus sign) in the last column of the stringer table in the Data window.
