Working with Upstands

At each point where a stringer crosses a frame, Workshop will calculate an upstand. Upstands are used to override the stringer orientation and cutout shape. An upstand is a short line that runs from the intersection of a stringer and a frame in the orientation-direction of the stringer.

 

Workshop uses the orientation of the upstand to calculate the shape and location of the cutouts through the frames. The upstand defines the following:

·   location of the intersection of stringer and frame (base point of the upstand)

·   orientation of the stringer

·   stringer and cutout shape

 

Changing these properties allows you to specify different properties for each frame. Information on how to edit any of the upstands properties is given below.
